Dining Like a Tourist in the City of Lights

Oui, yes!  I mean Paris!  The city that is notorious for being rude to American tourists (although this was not really my experience).  So why would you want to dine like a tourist in this city known for its groundbreaking cuisine?  Well, what better way is there to fully experience the iconic symbol of Paris, the Eiffel Tower, than to be served a three-course meal inside this iron gem!  From my own personal experience, here is why you should reserve a table at the 58 Tour Eiffel restaurant when you visit Paris.

First of all, your dinner reservation includes a nighttime lift ticket to the first floor of the Eiffel Tower. Here you can take in the magnificent views of the city from the viewing decks before and after your dining experience.  Believe me, you want to see the Paris lights at night, and this is a great way to get 360-degree views of the city.  A bonus tip, plan to arrive early enough to take the lift up to the next level of the tower for a pre-dinner cocktail at Bar à Champagne.  You will need to purchase an additional lift ticket for this, but the experience is well worth it!

Second, the food at 58 Tour Eiffel is creative and has the artistic flair that you would expect from a French brasserie.  From duck foie gras topped with an Eiffel Tower shaped crouton to a sea bream filet that looks as though it were placed on top of an artist’s canvas, the plates are a feast for the eyes as well as the mouth.  Another bonus tip, request to be seated on the side of the tower facing the River Seine, if possible, for the best dining views.  That will surely give you a reason to smile for your champagne toast!

Finally, how cool will it be when you get to tell all of your friends that you dined inside the Eiffel Tower? You are sure to be the envy of all of your friends, even if you stood out as a tourist while there. Believe me, the locals already knew by your lack of fluency in French.  So you might as well give your best mèrci to your hostess and enjoy a fun dining experience!
